Macro geometry

A polymer fiber designed for post-crack work

Macro synthetic fibers are larger engineered polypropylene or polyolefin elements. Embossed, twisted, crimped or fibrillating forms are used to develop bond and bridge cracks after the concrete matrix cracks.

MaterialPolypropylene, polyolefin or confirmed copolymer.
GeometryLength, equivalent diameter, surface and deformation.
Concrete rolePost-crack toughness and residual-performance objectives.
DurabilityNon-corroding material; chemical and temperature behavior remain product-specific.
DosageSelected through design, trials and performance testing.
SupplyGrade, manufacturer, packaging, MOQ and lead time confirmed per quote.

Where specifiers consider it

Hardened-concrete applications

Slabs and floorsLoading, joint layout, finish, subgrade and residual performance guide selection.
ShotcreteEnergy absorption, pumping, rebound and ground-support criteria matter.
PrecastHandling, impact, mold fill and production repeatability are reviewed.
InfrastructureProject acceptance, exposure, fire and documentation requirements control suitability.

Batching and placement

Dispersion must be demonstrated in the plant

Macro fibers can affect consistency, pumping and finish. Use the supplied product instructions, introduce fibers where sufficient mixer shear is available and extend mixing as required by the product and trial.

  • Do not correct workability by adding uncontrolled water
  • Confirm admixture and mix compatibility
  • Inspect fiber separation or agglomeration
  • Trial pumping, placing and finishing
  • Verify dosage through the required performance test
  • Confirm any substitution through project design approval

Performance-based selection

Begin with the required concrete result

01

Define element

Slab, precast, shotcrete or another application with geometry and exposure.

02

Set criterion

Residual strength, toughness, crack control or project-specific acceptance.

03

Select product

Choose fiber geometry and dosage supported by source data and testing.

04

Trial and verify

Confirm batching, placement, finish and required concrete test result.

Product dimensions, dosage, packaging, MOQ and lead time are confirmed per quotation.
